Hey all -
I'm moments (yes moments) away from ordering a car! This is the day/week it happens. I posted this question in another thread but wanted to get your attention and a quick response.
I'm in Miami and, while I am aware that prices/deals that people get on the cars differ depending on location, I would like to know how the Edmunds True Market Value (TMV) - ie "What Others Are Paying" Column stacks up against what you actually paid for your E92.

I've shopped around and spent almost 2 months playing with dealers.
The best I've done is $48,000 on the car which MSRP is 50,050 and Invoice (per Edmunds) is 46k. Edmunds says others are paying $48,400.

Did you do better/worse/same? How much?
Where are you located?
Any Tips?

I paid a few hundred over invoice. I think Edmunds is very accurate - invoice, MSRP and national average (what others are paying) But focus on invoice. Start from there and negotiate. The only thing Edmunds does not include are MACO fees. Good luck

Yes - I intend to start from invoice and work up. That is how I have dealt with each dealer. They, of course, like to say I'll give you X off MSRP.

The South Florida dealers all sit and wait for somebody to come in and pay MSRP. . . and unfortunately for me, somebody does. This drives their bargaining power up because they can afford to tell me "hell no."
I would love to find somebody down here who got an e92 for a couple hundred over invoice. I'm shooting for $1,000 over. . . but I'm getting the feeling (after 2 months of back and forth) that this isn't going to be a reach-able goal.

BMW doesn't charge every dealer the MACO fee (not all dealerships participate). And it varies by region, so it's not =1% of the car's value. In my area, it's $280. But you are correct in that it's an advertising fee.
