polishing question

When i called Chemical guys to get some advice on the stuff i was buying they said that i shouldnt polish my car since it's so new (only year old) and it ruins the clearcoat to over polish (not an exact quote but somehting like that).. instead i was instructed to pickup a glaze which i did.. would i just apply that in place of the polish? or should i still polish before the glaze? i do notice some swirls on the car.. i've got both menzerna intensive polish and zaino zpc.. would one be better than the other or can i skip both and just glaze?

thanks

Age of the car doesn't matter when it comes to polishing. I've polished a car with 5 miles on it before because of a poor dealer prep. If you want to remove imperfections such as swirl marks, water, spots, etc. you have to polish with an abrasive polish, brand new or 10 years old.

Ideally, you want to always start with the least aggressive polish that gives you the results you're looking for. Start off with the Z-PC and see how well it's working for you. If you need a more aggressive polish, step it up to the IP. You can also tweak your pad combination if you're using a buffer to alter your results.

When you polish properly, there's very little to worry about as far as clear coat damage goes. After you remove as many imperfections as possible, be sure to learn how to properly maintain your vehicle with the correct washing and drying techniques to minimize adding more imperfections in the future.

Hope this helps clear some things up for you.
