AC compressor valve help, plz
Hey guys,
Florida girl, can't live without my AC. Went out, had it read by the indy shop, it's an AC compressor valve that has failed. I looked and AC compressors are not interchangeable with gas (as expected). Someone said you can just replace the valve.... but how do you know the right part number or replacement, as BMW does not sell it separately? Google returned that a DENSO 7SEU17C is the compressor we have. Anyone can verify before I buy a valve, please? Quick search with unverified information puts the valve at $40-$50 vs the Behr compressor at $380. If anyone has tackled just the valve, did you have a failure within a year? 09 335D with 126k miles... of course, right out of warranty!

a quick google search leads me to believe this compressor is clutch-less. That would make me think it is the RCV (refrigerant control valve)..
If this is the case I know over in the VW (TDI) work the RCV tends to go out around 60-70K miles... people over there have successfully changed them out for about $70.. that being said most of the people that changed the RCV later at sometime had to replace the compressor for failure... |
