n54 possible hpfp issues? would appreciate help
So I've been data logging my car recently with my Accessport V3, and the numbers just don't seem right at all to me...In fact they kind of frighten me (and I'm still just learning how to read the logs). Is there anybody out there who would be willing to lend a hand in reading my logs and seeing what could be the issue? I'm thinking it's the dreaded HPFP issue that n54's are notorious for...but given my knowledge with data logging I could be wrong and it could be something worse..sorry if this has already been discussed, I'm new here, but I couldn't find anything about hpfp data logs in search, so I figured I'd reach out for possible help. I've attached the .csv file, and below is the link to the datazap graph

oh and also the service light came on prematurely as well, so that's another reason these numbers got me buggin out...any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

I took a quick look at your logs and did not know what I am looking for (what is the car doing?), but did not see anything alarming. Your rail fuel pressure is holding 2,500-3,000psi and did not look horribly wrong.
I only saw one "pull" of any sort. You had about 60% throttle with a quick blip to 70%. You never had a legit pull to look at data. (full throttle, say 3rd gear from 2,000 to 6,500). The rest of your log looks as if you were just driving around in traffic. If you suspect that your HPFP is bad, log the HPFP pressure target along with the actual pressure (you are already logging this) and you can see if the delivered pressure is falling significantly short of what is being requested. Yes, requested pressure jumps around continuously so it is not strange for pressures to vary over a run. Give us more information, along with a good log, and we might be able to find your problem (if there is one). |

Yeah, sorry I didn't specify...It was just a quick daily drive on my way back from work since I don't have any long stretches near me to do a big pull of any sort (except for that mini spot where you could see I did a quick/short pull), I just kept seeing crazy fluctuations in the stft numbers come up on my AP so I decided to log it, and when I was doing my research on what are the "correct" numbers for stft it didn't stack up well; it looked very high, given that everybody was saying max is 34% & I was hitting like 26+%, and -27% ish before I started logging.
So it seemed like there was an issue given that the service light came on prematurely, the stft #'s were all over the place, and the car in general feels kind of sluggish & like it's grinding/pushing itself strenuously through the gears. Sorry for the lack of info.

Yeah sorry, this log is crap now that I look at it again, I'll try to get a better one asap because this isn't showing anything that looks like an issue now that you mention it, all this log really shows is that I'm going crazy...Sorry, I'm new here, gotta figure out how to not be a dumbass on public threads.

As you are getting on and off the throttle, the car is instantaneously getting rich/lean and the ECU is making corrections to adjust for that. Unless you are steady state (full throttle) it is hard/impossible to determine a trend. If you see that you are constantly (under full throttle) maxing out your trims (either +/-) you are trending either rich or lean and that is what you need to adjust for.

Look at your fault codes (troubleshooting on the Cobb screen) and it will show you the historical codes too, they do not need to be active. They will stay there until you clear them manually.
