HKS SSQV BOV Install Question
Hi guys/girls. Just finished the install on my VRSF/HKS Charge Pipe and BOV install. I fired the car up, let it get up to temp and rev'd it a good few times to check if there's anything I'd forgot. All good.
However, now I'm in the flat my paranoia has taken over. When connecting the OEM vacuum line to the SSQV, I just stuck the filter thing at the end of the OEM line (that originally goes into the 3 piece connection for the recirc valves) and then cut the silicone hose I got with the kit to size, put it on the other end of the filter and ran it to the BOV (making sure the filter was facing the correct way). Is this ok? I got a bronze adapter with the kit which I haven't used and it got me thinking "well they wouldn't provide it if it wasn't needed". Cheers. |

filter?
Couple things. have a look at tapping for a bigger line off the manifold. literally took me 5 minutes. Im having trouble picturing what you mean by a filter. It sounds like you made yourself a boost leak unless im missing something

I took it a blast, full boost in gears 1-5 and it seemed fine. Does the car throw up a code if it has a small boost leak? Last edited by McLeanSC; 06-18-2017 at 04:37 PM.. |

Depends how small/large the boost leak. It needs to underboost by a certain percentage for about 3 seconds before a 30FF appears.
If it's running fight then enjoy it. There isn't an issue other then asthetics using different lines, although ideally they should be the same diamater but that's just knit picking details. The Tial BOV is more picky requiring 4MM or 1/4 inch lines and a tapped intake manifold. HKS is more forgiving. |
