Is HID another name for Xenon?
If not... can somebody explain the exact technical differences by design. What's common, what is not.
A kit such as this one will use the standard halogen housing and make it work as a Xenon? Right or wrong? http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA:IT&ih=024 Same as MTEC if I am not mistaken |

Those are Euro halogen headlights. That kit uses its own ballasts to make the HID bulb fit in the halogen fittiment. The only difference is that you will not have the projector, it will still be a bright HID light. Be careful, some aftermarket HID kits run REALLY hot and can even melt the headlight housings.

Unless the ballast/bulb is defected, HID usually runs a lot cooler than halogen, that's one of the advantages of HID other than brighter and using less power.
I'm not an expert, but these are the things I've learn reading threads from this site. |
