Where are all the built motors?

I recently purchased a dirt cheap n54 that I plan to build but in my research of the build companies, MMP, ABR, and Motiv. I havent really been able to find a video or dyno of any of these builds yet people are constantly getting built motors from the above companies. Does anyone know where I can find more information on actual, running, built n54s?

Cant say I've heard or know of anyone besides VTT to have a fully built engine. Maybe the Fundguy1 since he always seems to be pushing the limits but other than those 2 people/companies I dont know that many of us require a fully built motor.

You could always reach out directly to these companies and ask them for the data you're seeking, Im sure they'd have something...

It just seems like theres all these people who purchased motiv/abr motors but none of them have been posted anywhere. Ideally I would want to go with VAC or robello but I was also curious about how these other built motors are holding up. It seems like people blindly dump money into a build where there isnt much feedback.

I'm sure there are more than a few floating around...peeps who are that serious about their builds are way past the point of sifting through threads titled "which front mount is right for me?" which is why none of them are around here.

I know there have been several but how is there no dyno or video of any of them? I know theres a motiv one that did a run but im talking about actual customers who have owned them for a somewhat extended period of time. I get that theres first start videos and maybe a dyno or two but Im more concerned with the longevity aspect.

check boostbimmer (flip words) or sp00lstreet (o instead of 0), this forum is a noob forum when it comes to advanced engine work for the most part

the forum names turn to ******** if you say them normally here, hence why you have to mod them FYI

My brother and myself. These engines are not like rocket science. Some people tend to disagree with that.

Built motors are out there, but they still aren't common. Some of the shops are having issues -nothing new there, it comes with the territory. Still, we -and from what I hear a few others- are running fine so it can be done. It's expensive and the cost of the platform drops as these cars get older, so it's a very different crowd with different financial goals. You'll see more of them pop up in time.

Honestly, it might be easier to get in touch with the different shops and ask if any of their customers would be interested/open to speaking with you

Yeah that makes sense. I guess I just expected it to be like the single turbo guys where it seemed like everyone had their own videos and dynos for their setup. VTT showed some serious gains and a few others posted dynos and videos of them but i guess I expected more people to do the same. I'll just have to be patient.

Remember a built motor doesn't make more power (a ported head can). A built motor takes more abuse. That's it! Just stronger.

Yep, its just the foundation aside from the possible lack of parasitic losses due to weight being cut in the rotating assembly. I want to get the bottom end built and out of the way then ill do the head/cams down the road when its more ironed out.

Your build is interesting -one of the first guys that are "in the know" but a smaller shop venturing out and trying it AND posting about it. Very cool. I love it.
