Was a good drive, thanks for organising. We'll get more to join us next time.
N52s are pretty solid usually. The usual gaskets like OFHG and VCG will need to be checked/ corrected. Usual failure items include cooling system (electric water pump, thermostat, hose, raidator), starter, power steering pump. Aside from that, check the tyres for wear pattern and anything unusual on the surface - could mean alignment, bushings or hard driving. Unfortunately there's no easy way to look at the oil but you can look inside the oil cap for sludge or varnishing. lastly, take a peak inside the expansion tank for abnormalities. And check diff for leaks, and the under body tray for evidence of leaks too. I found the interior on the 1 series to wear faster than the 3 but ymmv. Looks like a great buy at that price. Good luck! |
