N54 sec cats w/pure turbo's
Hey guys,
My car is pure stage 2 plus meth pushing 24 psi and 13* of timing with a gutted oem exhaust. Now the rasp and smell is is getting old so does anybody know if it is ok to reinstall the sec cats, or would they be to restrictive for my setup? Thanks! |

There are many guys out there with upgraded turbos who keep the secondary's in and do ok. The E90, especially, is not particularly restrictive. I saw about a 10-12 whp difference at the 500 whp level, only way up top in the RPM band. That difference will grow as power increases but it's just not a big deal to leave them in.

do you still have the OEM resonator intact, and what sort of muffler are you running? |

At that price hard to pass, I bought one for my friends turbo miata and works great, even gave a little more sound in the exhaust, perfect.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Catalytic-...9W1nZ5&vxp=mtr I also have no cats and vibrant resonators on my 135i, altrought I like the sound I might go back to cats some day just to totally eleminate the smell and make the car a little more quiet. |

I have an e90 and I run the stock exhaust system with stock mufflers with the stock resonator. I just run Vrsf catless downpipes and I cut out the stock secondary cats and welding in vibrant resonators in their place.

I have GC lites fbo e90 xi 6mt here. I have the stock exhaust system with vrsf downpipes. Maybe I could buy the 2 high flow cats shown and remove the resonator and put a x pipe?

You already have secondary cats, why spend the money on high flows? You have a resonator and a very good one at that, why remove it? If you have a good resonator, you don’t need an x-pipe. It’s either one or the other so I don’t see a point. My suggestion if you want more sound? Well you can go one of two routes. 1. If you don’t care about smell, remove your secondaries although I suggest keeping them. 2. Either do PE mod to your current muffler or replace it all together with a resonator going out each side of the bumper. It will sound very good. |

Nice... that is a great setup. Would you kindly post some exhaust clips?

I never made an exhaust clips but the car is very very quiet. Not much louder than stock.
