I stop the car.. take the dvd out, take the cd out.. take the key out.. i even lock the car.. an I can still hear the idrive.. making a sound.. kinda like a laptop cooler.. I waited a few minutes but the sound stays on.. is it normal? does it ever stop? doesn't this consume the car's battery?..

.. I just bought my 320d, e90, very pleased.. but as I bought it as a second hand car.. i am very suspicious on every thing that seem to be "strange" .. or .. not "as it should be"..

You'll hear random sounds like this for about 15-20 minutes after the car is off. It's normal. After about 20 minutes, the car finally goes to sleep.

i think you can just make sure to lock the doors..

I think it's normal since everyone has it. Maybe the cd/dvd drive but it could be something else... it's been heard on both idrive and none-idrive..
