Can Porsche reset the odometer?
I am currently looking for the Cayenne and I just found an extremely low mileage 2015 Cayenne S. Dealer says it is from Porsche North America headquarters and it was used to run errands. Car's MSRP was almost $100k and they are asking for $60k... and mileage on odo is.... just 350miles. And since it wasnt ever titled, it is being sold as new with new car warranty. Catch here is that the photos dont look all that new to me. Maybe they run hundreds of single digit mile errands over two years, but I'm not so convinced. I just wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience as such. Do you guys think I should commit to it?

That vehicle with standard equipment and that mileage Blue Books at about 52k, that is with a title so an untitled one with new car warranty, I'd say 60k or a little less is probably what they came up with.
Go look at it in person if you can, if not, ask for detailed pics of condition. |

Sounds like a deal. I'd be all over it...
I'd just look all over it for unclaimed damage. Just make sure one of their lot attendant hunkies didn't wreck it, where they fixed the damage themselves without turning in a claim. |

It's possible it was used at corporate, there's a handful of vettes that are passed around at the Tech Center that only accumulate a couple hundred miles before being sold off or what have you.
What does Carfax say on the VIN?

So I checked out the car this morning, and it definitely looks bit shady.
First of all, there's no new car scent at all. In fact, it smells older than my 30k old car. Second, there are wears on the driver's seat bolster and pedals. Considering it is a full leather car, I can hardly believe this wear happened during 300~miles. Thirdly, passenger side dashboard has popped, or cracked along the windshield. I couldn't clearly see what exactly was the damage because of the angle but dash definitely isn't sitting right. SA said they just placed an order for the new dash to replace. Lastly, air suspension operation wasn't quite or smooth. Perhaps it's due to long storage time but who knows. Like someone said previously, I think it might have involved in an accident and they fixed without filing a claim. $60k isn't something I would pay to test my luck. Thanks all for your inputs. |
