Winter beater suspension refresh?
I just purchased an 07' 328xi with 101k on the clock. Suspension wise what typically needs replaced with these years and miles. It is just a car I drive to work in the winter so no need for performance upgrades, just looking to replace worn parts.
I dont want to piece meal it as parts fail, I'd rather just do everything that is needed while the car is down. Do any of the vendors sell a complete kit? |

Before you drop $ on parts, I would take to a shop (that offers free diagnostics) or dealer for review on suspension.
DEALER - One thing you can do is schedule an oil service at the dealer, yes, the dealer using the promo: https://bmwusaservice.com/valueservice I think it would be $99. It should come with a free wash ($20 value) and coffee and let them know that you feel the front end feels not super firm. MAKE SURE they do not charge for diagnostic... and just see if the technician can just take a look. They should make some recommendations on when your oil change is done. I personally would change oil immediately on any used car anyway. That's one way of finding out. ------ One thing for sure, you can consider changing the shocks by 100k, fronts would need a refresh. Dealer changed mine (under warranty) at 48k |
