Confusion Regarding KW Part No's

According to a few retailers' websites there is no difference (ie no need for specifying) between the sedan and coupe for KW coilover kits. However, I noticed in the instructions that everything said E90, which made me jump on the KW site to find that there are two different part numbers for the sedan and coupe. They also have different lowering adjustment min/max.

KW Coilover Variant 3: 3series (E90) Sedan - 06+(390L) - Part No: 35220032
KW Coilover Variant 3: 3series (E92) Coupe - 06+(392C) - Part No: 35220047

On the other hand, both the sedan and coupe instruction manuals have the same spring and strut/shock part signatures.

Needless to say, I'm a bit confused.

Are these kits the same on both cars and the difference in part numbers is strictly for internal company purposes, or are they in fact different?

Thanks for your help!
Eric

if its anything like the v2 kit which it probably is, they are in fact the same parts (shocks, springs, etc) in both e90/e92 kits. the reason for the different part #'s is each kit has different instructions for e90/e92. i went through this whole thing when i purchased the v2's (e92 kit on an e90) and verified with kw and a number of different vendors.

The parts are 100% identical but dampening is not the same. Got that for KW engineering deparment in Germany.

The good vendors stock both and if they don't got to someone else.

Thanks for the input guys.

I just got off the phone with KW NA, and the tech I talked to said they are in fact the same parts 100%. He only recommended that I go to the website and print out all the instruction manuals for the coupe. The only thing he mentioned that was different was the ride height settings.

Orb: I did explicitly ask about the dampening, but he still insisted everything is the same. Did I misunderstand your post?

The parts are identical and the variety of numbers are for KW's internal referrence.

Yup as mentioned - the two are 100% identical - there is absolutely no difference. We keep a mix of sedan and coupe part numbers to keep customers happy - but honestly there is no difference at all(I think we talked about this last year guys)
