Is my clutch slipping?
I just acquired my 2008 335i, did the walnut blasting, and then flashed to MHD Stage 1+. I'm pretty sure the clutch is slipping since the RPMs go up under WOT without the wheel speed matching. However, now I'm beginning to wonder if it's just spinning? I'm on all-season tires and the slip is not constant. I drove about 40 highway miles where I'd go WOT in 6th from about 2500-4000 RPM and sometimes it would act like in the video, but more times than not it was normal. I've seen light wheel spin in 2nd behave the same way as the video (RPM increase without match in wheel speed & no traction control light), yet I know it is spinning because I can hear the tires. What do you all think?
See video: If it is the clutch, how long can I drive it like this? Either way, I have everything needed for the clutch job sitting here - new 335is clutch, dmfw, rear main seal, giubo, etc. It's just a busy & cold weekend ![]() |

Yeah your clutch is slipping. Mine started about 1500km ago. It only ever slips in 3rd-5th gear WOT. Other wise its np in normal driving. But it is getting worse no doubt. Im installing the same for parts as you. 550i clutch upgrade will be fine for a stage 2.
