Joyriide Detailed: Jaguar Super V8 and then some

The top story here is the Jaguar Super V8. Owner does NOT wash it. Figures its white and it can go a while without, heh. Swirling was light to moderate, the real enemy here were the water spot etchings. They were deep! One round of M95 did not remove them completely, although they did knock out the swirling and rids very quick. Two shots of M95 were needed on most of the horizontal surfaces, but other than that, the job was fairly easy. This is the owners daily driver for work, so other than some light stains on the drivers leather seat, and dusty consoles, the interior was immaculate.I could have even gotten away with not vacuuming the back seats, but of course I still did. I used my 4000 grit mesh fabric again, this time I used it on the wheels as well. WOW!. NO marring or scratching what so ever on the chrome. They smoothed out the surface very well and left them AMAZING. I could not pick up any scratching what so ever under both Brinkman and Halogens. This is definately something I plan to order a big roll of and send out samples to non-believers. Something I had a problem with was cleaning the mats on this car. They appear to be sheeps wool but they were reallyt matted and the hairs were long enough to hinder my use of scrubbing and extracting. I ended up just combing them out and fluffing them with a mist of glass cleaner.

Interior

Meguiars APC
Poorboys Leather Stuff
Meguiars #40
Zaino Clear Seal on wood trim

Exterior

Dawn
Claymagic Blue
4000 grit mesh fabric

Meguiars Super Degreaser on tires, fender wells, and engine.
Meguiars Waterbased dressing on fender wells and engine
P21S left to dwell on chrome wheels and exhaust tips durign entire polishing of car, followed by 4000 grit mesh and a coat of Zaino Clear Seal
Meguiars APC+ on door jams, trunk jam, and gas cap.
DP Tire Gloss on tires.

Before

Prepping Tools

Under the lights (you will notice NO back and forth marring from the 4000 grit mesh)

Mind you, this is after washing, claying and sanding, anf the friggin' spots are still there, even on the hood ornament.

Check out the murky wash buckets.

Afters

The following pics were taken right after the sun went down. Made for some nice looking white paint!

Haha. That hoop is from way back in the day. I actually converted my tennis court in the back into a full basketball court.

Or something to that effect

The job on the white Jag really shows off your skills. And the Vette is pure sex.

What a shameful condition/statement that Jag owner had and said.
It's honestly the truth for a lot of car owners no matter how much they paid for their car. They drive it and wash it on occasion. Most people take their cars for a nice swirl job by their local car wash place... shame

On the other hand, the detail work was nothing short of incredible. It looked like you still missed some spots along the ridges on the door or it could be from the orange peel effect.

I bet the owner was in shock that his car looked so nice again. I hope you hooked him for life because I'm sure he'll just keep at his old habit of not washing it!

Are you only detailing on the weekends or do you do this as a full time job?

Job well done

Whoa amazing work! And man the time and dedication to do Land Rovers... I gotta hand it to you on dedication man.

Love the details too. I have not detailed a car in months! I gotta get my health back and stay committed like you.

Question: How often do you take breaks? And do you usually eat during detailing?

Yea, you're probably seeing things, because I had to go ahead to do w/e it takes and charge I want, so I basically looked at the paint from every angle. Only thing I could possible think could not have been leveled were the side painted molding which for obvious reasons, were not buffed.

IO've been at this for 5 yeas, but up until the last year was when I began doing this more often for clients and focusing on making money from it. I detail whenever I'm available.

Yea, I eat and drink about a gallon or two through out. Scheerspeed details locally to me, so he can attest that the Heat is enough to cause dehydration. I think he keeps a gallon of water nearby as well.

I normally eat in the middle of the detail, but in this case, I got so into the detail that I just kept going and going.
