How to Code out rear PDC
Updated with instructions:
Greetings, I have a friends car that we are just completing a full M3 body upgrade (minus the quarters). The rear bumper was not setup for PDC and we chose to just delete them. To remove all errors you must remove $507 from the VO as well as physically unplug the module. First, remove the VO code for just rear PDC $507 from the CAS and NFRM (verifty that it is gone in both. Next, remove the interior panel of the rear right quarter (battery area). Behind the sound reading material you will find a small white plastic box that contains the TPMS and PDC modules. Unplug the 2 PDC plugs (we removed the module) and you are good to go! View post on imgur.com View post on imgur.com Hope this helps! Last edited by trickcruiser; 06-12-2018 at 12:54 PM.. After doing the FA_Write to CAS, do a "Process Car" job with a blank .MAN file. This should code every other module with the new VO and remove all traces of rear PDC in anything else. Seems like there are other modules in the car that also need coding, and without knowing exactly which ones, Process Car is your best bet. It'll also undo any other custom coding you've done, however.

How did this work out for you? I am in a similar situation. I bought my car after a rear end hit repair. It had PDC originally but the replacement bumper isn't a PDC part. I have no desire to spend the money to put the PDC back on so coding it out is my best option. I am ok with coding basic stuff but haven't messed with a VO yet.
Is there a way I can back up my current coding so that after a full write I can re-apply it or will that undo the removal of the PDC from the modules I re-code? Will I need to just re-create that stuff from scratch? |

I am always hesitant when it comes to a full process car.
So I just unplugged the 2 plugs from the PDC unit (located on the inside of the right quarter). That with the coding I mentioned before, there are no warnings. The car has not yet hit the road but I am pretty confident that it is complete now. Last edited by trickcruiser; 06-12-2018 at 12:57 PM.. |

Once you code out the PDC, remove the 2 plugs from the PDC module (located on the inside of the right rear quarter panel).

For anyone getting a post-accident non PDC bumper, any competent bodyshop can drill the holes with an 18mm step drill. I recently had that done for my M Sport bumper conversion and used a non-PDC bumper and it had the markings for the holes anyways.
