EVL blocked. Move steering wheel. ???
Hey everybody...it's been a long time since I've been here.
I've had a recurring problem with my 06 325i lately. I keep getting this error message on iDrive when I put the key in the slot: "EVL blocked. Move steering wheel." The car won't start and there's a strange logo that appears, looks like a padlock over the steering wheel logo. Funny thing is, I can turn the steering wheel when the car isn't started...the acutal wheel lock doesn't come on. Any idea what the heck this is? At first I though it was just some kind of fluke, but it's been happening over and over again. And a google search on the message comes up with nothing. I've read the book...still nothing. I'm going to call service on Monday, but it's Saturday and I've got places to go. I don't want to be stranded because my car won't start. Any help is much appreciated! |

common problem on the e90s...depending on the faults its either programming or a new column...basically just fiddle with it and eventually it should work...

It has happened to me yesterday first time. Do you mean fiddle the wheel? I ended up getting out closing/unlocking and it worked. I have keyless btw. |

Definitely get it checked out pronto. You should've noted the warning signs by now, it will get worst. I procrastinated getting my car in to my SA and the car left me stranded with the ELV lock problem.
