Dinan Flash Questions

I talked to my dealer about possibly gettin a Dinan stage 1 flash, and IC. They contacted Dinan and said there would be no gain with an intercooler and stage 1. Does anyone know why they would not recommend this. I mean they were honest and could of taken my 1600 dollars but they said I really didnt need it. Stage 1 is only 18hp away from stage2 so I wouldnt see how either one or 2 would benefit from one. I would definately see a need for one with Stage 3. I jus thought gettin one for now would get me started for future upgrades ( e.g. OC ,STAGE 3 etc.). I do not have an oil cooler so stage 1 is my only option right now. Does anyone have any stage 1 dynos on this site?

Yeah boost increase on stage 1 is too low to require an IC.

Stage 1 software doesn't take advantage of in IC. Stage two does, by not tapering off as much towards redline, but even then its only about 5hp so you might not feel it either instead of IC, get an oil cooler and go stage II you will smile a lot harder than with stage I, quite some difference between the two. Ignore the numbers, your butt will tell you there is really a big difference too. If I were you, I'd save the cash and get the oil cooler so I can go stage II instead.

the stock intercooler is not a bad unit man. if you wanted you could roll your own but you don't want to ruin the dinan warranty.

but man most synthetics break down around 275F so you need that oil cooler.

Almost 4 grand installed for a damn oil cooler. Forget that. If Im gonna spend that much on my car I should of jus bought a new M3. I used to have jb2 and that was fast enough so this should be suficcient. Both boost around 11 psi. Plus I bought my car (not leased) and I know theres a price to pay down the line to be running over 13 psi everyday, especially with those small hamburger turbos.
