Question about tint

Hi!
I got my car tinted several weeks ago. As you guys know, dots in edge of back rear window shield make tint look not clean because of the gap between film and surface of window glass. Especially, E92 coupe has too many dot shape on top side (the side that brake ramp is located). How did you guys get tinted for avoid some dirty look? or any idea?

Thanks in advance

I have another tint question, figured I'd post here instead of making another thread. In the Indianapolis area I've found a shop that does f1 pinnacle, but it would cost $480 for 35%. Is it worth it for the pinnacle or should I got for zebarts tint that is around $200? Zebart has a regular tint that is dyed and a premium that is metalic, not sure which of these to get if I do go for that. I am mainly looking for heat reflection and a professional looking tint (no bubbles or pealing).

if you have CA, NAVI, or Sirius, metallic tint may cause interference.. F1 Pinnacle is definitely worth the money...

silly question, do people usually get the windshield tinted or not? When people say __% all around is that normally including the front or is the windshield usually left completely untinted?

"All around" does not usually include the windshield. Those that do tint the windshield usually reduce the percentage to 45-50% tint.

I think that all comes down to having and experienced, professional tint installer doing the job. I have an E90, and the tint around the dots looks pretty clean.

480 for ceramic tint is about rite. huper optik tint is 500 here in socal regardless of % tint. if i were u, i'd stick w/ the ceramic tints, dont cheat urself outta good heat reflection tint. huper optik is i think the best ceramic tint as far as heat reflection

I think you might be wrong, you can't have any tint in the front windows and anything in the back, that's the law. But then a lot of ppl here have tint in the front windows anyways, since if you get pulled over for something else, they only gives you a "fix-it" ticket. You will not likely get pull over just because of your tint in the front, except maybe in Irvine (that's what I've heard).

nooo, u got my question wrong, ANY tint below 30% on the front windows in CA is illegal. they don't give a SHIT what you have in the back windows i am pretty sure about that , the tint in the front is suppose to ALLLOW about 70% of the light insde of the car anything BELOW 70% is a ticket , or as u said "fix it " ticket" which costs 40$ ohh and yea U CAN HAVE whatever tint u want in the back thats the LAW , you can check it out the laws of the tint right here.

actually i think you are a little confused... the tint % you get on your car is usually refered to what the actual amount of light that is getting into the cabin of your car. to support my claim (getting limo tint is 0% or 5% which is letting pratically no light in, it's not letting 100% or 95% light in)

meaning in CA it is said to be 70% like you said... therefore the legal tint for the front windows is 70% and anything UNDER 70% is illegal and rear windows has no limit like you said but i also heard otherwise, where tint is not allowed in the front too. but im breaking the law either way and have 35% all around and never have been pulled over yet *knocks on wood*

SIDE NOTE: If it makes you feel better i read somewhere that Canada takes 5% tint as 5% of light being let through but in the US it is taken as 5% is the amount of light that is blocked which means 95% of light is let through. (do not know if this is true)

But when it comes to tinting, almost every tinter or person takes the tint % as the amount of light that is let through the tint film...

Pretty much unavoidable - sadly.

Some Tinters are just better at it than others. Sometimes you get lucky and it comes out a little cleaner. Its the worst part about getting our cars tinted.
