Paint thickness gauge?
Hey so I've noticed a few of you guys use paint thickness guages. I was just wondering where I can get one of these and how much it should cost. I don't really need a fancy one that hooks up to a laptop and shows me graphs of paint thickness, just something that will tell me how thick the paint is in whatever spot I'm pointing at. Also, can anyone tell me the basics of how to use them? I don't mean how to actually operate the gauge but can someone explain to me what thickness you usually want to take off, what paint thickness do you never want to go below etc.
Thanks! Kaiser |

Damn, I figured they would be expensive but like $2300? Looks like I might just have to do without a gauge for now haha I was hoping I could get one that does aluminum and steel for under 100 but looks like for under 100 I can choose aluminum or steel.

under 100?
hahahahahahahaha these are measurung microns and mils..a hand pressure gauge to measure metalized film and poly is like 400.. an electronic gauge with a scope.. hell 1000-2000 is a damn good deal.. but yeah if someone came out with one cheaper and as reliable as defelsco we would have heard about it..there are some cheap ones but never heard a good review |
