Nexus 7 dying while car off
Can anyone help me on powering my nexus?
I've finally figured out my usb hub charging. I'm getting positive maH ratings through Timur's kernel's power management, but when I charge my iPhone through the hub it (the iPhone) slowly dies even though stating charging still. I need to plug I to the hub to run CarPlay through the nexus as well. The real issue is when my car is off and the tablet sleeps I'm losing power. Does the battery removal solve this?

Since you are using an android (nexus 7), you can install Tasker (app). Se it to tun on airplain mode or turn off wifi, bluetooth, location etc. any power consuming apps/services after loosing power (car is off).
Then do the opposite when it starts charging. You can also try replacing the tablet's battery if you haven't already. |

Well, looks like you have already done what you can on the software side. You might need a good charger to get the battery a good charge before the car is off.
I got this https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B071W2...f=yo_pop_mb_pd and it powered my Minix NEO U9-h (that's what I plan on installing for my xar setup) |

Do you have boot on power enabled? Only thing is the Nexus 7 is getting old, so booting take a bit of time.
You should have this enabled anyway. Then you don't need to press any buttons. Another "drastic" measure is to get a Cellink B battery pack. This is an external battery pack that is meant for dashcams, but of course you can use them for whatever. And later on, if you plan on installing a dashcam, then you already have sorted out the power source once the car is off. |
