Can i ditch SULEV fuel tank and install one from car with N52 engine
As the title says Can i ditch SULEV fuel tank and install one from car with N52 engine?
I'm having left fuel level error in hot weather and the remedy is to replace the fuel tank. This will be the third fuel tank since the original has already been replaced. To avoid future problems I would like to install a fuel tank that has serviceable part. Thanks in advance. |

Yes it would fit, but you would have to get the fuel filler neck along with the fuel line leading from the tank to the engine bay, along with the wiring at the pump/level sensors

I'm in Nevada and the dealer wants California or other sulev state registration. I know some people fought it to the end and succeeded so i may try that route. If unsuccessful i can try to install a used fuel tank but i know this will be a maintenance item down the road.
Thanks for the info guys. |

Just to help your case I live in Arizona which is not one of the covered SULEV states and just had BMW North Scottsdale do some SULEV warranty work on my car for $0, my car was first registered in California and it is covered under all 50 states for 15yrs/150k miles. |
