Should I replace these M3 sway bar bushings?
Hi all,
So I got a great deal on a used E92 M3 front sway bar and it arrived yesterday. It came with the bushings and brackets which look to be in decent shape. However, I can't tell if the bushings need replacing; when pressed into the bracket they are raised from the bottom a little, is this normal? I have not worked on the sway bars of these cars so I honestly can't tell. Both clips of the bottom rubber bushing are clicked into the bracket. I'm thinking it may be pressed flat once torqued down but would like to find out before the install. Please see the pics: |

I installed new (M3) sway and bushes on my car and look exactly the same, they stick a little but when you tight the brackets it will hold on tight to the bar. Unless you see a visual crack or tear, I think you are more than ok to install them

Well now that I know that's how they're supposed to sit in the bracket, I'm not going to. The rubber looks fine and there aren't any dry or cracked areas. The fit looks tight as well so I don't expect noise. Trying to save as much as possible for other parts. For the record this upgrade cost me $113 shipped

I would. They look worn to me. Even if they have 5000 miles on them, it's just piece of mind that they are new.

Well I took another look at them and noticed a crack and they feel a bit dry so I ordered new bushings. Will push install back but I'll have piece of mind now.
