eNBT Emulator Group Buy

Would anyone be interested in a Car Systems eNBT emulator group buy? My current price is $450 Euros shipped via DHL. I could contact my dealer and see if he is willing to work with us.

Interested:
1. TerRon
2. MILLER335I

Just reading up on NBT, I haven't heard of them before today.

So is this just a replacement to CIC that offers more functionality? I'm still not sure what the key selling points are.

It's BMW's next version of CIC/navigation. Much more features, check this link for what NBT adds; https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=770381

To me Android BMW Apps is the key selling point as well as the high quality backup camera support. Car systems is the real deal and they are the OEM to almost all of the pro retrofit companies. I ordered this emulator already and it would be here if USPS didn't loose it.

Before I would do this group buy I would need to make sure everyone's ass is covered from eating $400 or so. Most likely there will be $20-30 in PayPal fees.

Sports Display seems to be pretty cool, would be awesome if there was a boost gauge on there though. I wonder if that would be possible to configure?

If we get 5 people the price with be $400 USD per emulator plus $75/5 for express shipping. So $415 USD per person. This would be before any payment fees. Carsystems does not want to use Paypal. I am not a fan of sending $2,000 USD to Ukraine through Western Union. I will need to see if they will take a payment method with some form.

I can ask carsystems when they are online again.

I'm going to back out of the group buy (sorry!), as I'm going with an ID5/6 evo, and so will be using the cheap adapter, ordered from bmwnbt.com. I'll post a full write-up including prices once I get all the parts (and once I get my car back from the body shop... :/ )

Please tell use how that adapter is once you get it. That might be the way to go since car systems will not take paypal.

Are there any options out there to get android auto? All I really care about is adding Waze + Tidal (or Spotify)

Yikes...is this the only option? I'm assuming $2k for the unit + hundreds in labor to get it installed. I tried digging into this subject awhile ago and ran into the Avin units, but I could never find a consensus on whether or not they're junk. Not to mention trying to use the head unit as a touchscreen when its built in to the dash sounds seriously inconvenient if thats the only option

Parts only. You need to take a head unit from a 2017+ BMW and stick it in your E90.

Sorry I'm totally de-railing your thread here, but you seem knowledgeable about this. This is the only good option for getting android auto?

I'm pretty sure even with the black top evo, it *still* won't do android auto.

BMW is very anti-android.

I'm going to put in a black top evo (shipped out today, piecing together the parts now, though I'm looking at a parts cost from non-nav to id5/6 black top evo at $1200 or less), then I'm going to buy a used iphone 6s, stick in a data-only sim card, and leave that in the glove box running CarPlay. That'll get me dash controlled Spotify, Waze, Pandora, etc. (tidal is also supported)
Hopefully I can still take bluetooth calls to my real android phone at the same time as it is connected to carplay... i will know in a month or so and will post about it then.

Show me were you can get a black top evo retrofit kit for under $1200.

No kit is that cheap, not by a long shot.
Piecing together bits and parts from two or three different yards, plus some lucky finds on ebay, and a lot of coding and hope

The cheapest blacktop Evo I saw was $500. Add in everything else and I do not see a $1200 DIY kit.

Yeah, you're right, it'll be more. Hopefully not a lot more though. I missed one of the expenses on my spreadsheet.
This is why I'm trying to get all the required parts and part numbers written down. This nbt emulator is a big chunk of the cost... Building my own can1<->can2 bridge with filters would have been far cheaper

I don't see anybody mentioning the Avin unit, so I'm assuming it just doesn't work or isn't worth it? $2000 options just aren't an option for me, so I guess I'll be sticking with fiddling with my phone all the time. I've been streaming music for so long that I don't really have digital files anymore, but maybe I'll go back to actual files and just keep them on a memory card and utilize the CIC for that.

I have the carsystems firmware and if I ever get my emulator I will take pictures of the PCB. Feel free to make your own emulator.

I have had customers replace their Avin units with my CIC kits. Generally they work good for about six months and then bog down.

I have been working on getting the three necessities costs down:

1. BT Audio
2. Backup Camera
3. Apple Carplay

It is really hard when you are dealing with middlemen all day long. I have found a good solution for the backup camera but I do not have the cash to do a bulk order. Then would people even pay $300 for a backup camera is another question.
