320D Remap
In conjunction with my other thread I will be looking to get a 330i or 335i in about a year or 2 as I still need the fuel economy for now but is it worth getting my 320D ED remmaped for now, I've seen gains to be around the 200hp mark.

Yep definitely worth it. Speak to Jason at BWChiptune as he is probably the best around. Do a Google search and you will see how well respected he is. Not sure where you are but he's in London near Heathrow. I'm in Somerset and I travelled to him to get my 330d mapped and it was definitely worth the trouble of travelling all that way.

Yeah I have seen a lot of people vouch for him and he's actually only 10 mins away from my uni so I could go to him directly. Thanks guys.

Bought my first E92 320d a few weeks ago. So far feeling very sluggish in terms of torque and terrible MPG in the city, going to get it serviced in January and then maybe think about a remap.
Is it recommended remapping 320d's in terms of reliability? I've read mixed reviews on them from random forum threads I've read in the past. |

clutches are the main thing a remap will show up if week, auto box should be mapped within tollerances of torque also...but please do homework and get someone with pedigree, just post up who your thinking about and we can judge wether they are good or not

Have a look at quantum tuning, they give 220bhp for the 2008-2012 320d.
I've had a quantum map on my 35i for a number of years now with no related issues other than having to replace the coils soon after the map was installed. Link attached. https://www.googleadservices.com/pag...MkQ0Qx6BAgJEAE

Owned a car since Jul,2017 should have done it long time ago. Last edited by titansilber_320d; 12-18-2018 at 06:33 PM.. |

When you say race chiptuning, do you mean the racechip tuning box??
If so yes, I had one on mine, gave a good step up in power but I did notice the dpf was regening more so must have been smoking more. Also I found the power was produced lower down in the revs which is great for a quick start off the line, not so good when you are on the motorway. I switched to a bluefin map which is much better. More drivable right through the rev range. More power and torque too. I imagine a bespoke map done on a Dyno would be even better. For now I'm happy with my bluefin map, I like that I can remove it and revert back to standard map and verse visa when I like. The superchips guys did a few tweaks for me too, adjusting throttle response and mapping out the egr valve too. They give a good service. |
