oil leak fixed (hopefully)
Hi guys,
I'm new to bmw's and new here. Recently bought a 08 320i with the N46 engine. Pretty happy with it, but it was dripping oil onto the exhaust. After some searching and reading, I removed and replaced the seals in the Vacuum pump. This post was very helpful in doing the task- https://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=33222 But it is still leaking! There is a vacant port that I noticed just below the vac pump. I'm wondering if the vacant port just below is supposed to have a plug in it, or maybe the rocker cover gasket is leaking? View post on imgur.com Last edited by tom320i; 02-01-2019 at 12:39 AM.. |

Update- I found a pic on eBay of an engine with plug in place. So I raided a plug from the front of the head to put there.
Turns out it was M18x1.5 I've now ordered a plug from eBay to put in the now vacant port in the front of head. (Orig BMW plug was 3-4 weeks ex Germany) Not sure why it was missing, maybe it fell out as the front one was only just over finger tight. Hope this helps somebody.
