N54 Injector Port Ovaling

Hey all, my injector port on my 335i ovaled out really badly today. Its bad enough where its easy to push the injector in the port with a new seal and decoupler. I've read threads on where people used teflon tape to essentially jb weld to seal the injector into place.

I've already tried the teflon tape method, but in just 15 minutes of driving, the seal blows out again, causing a misfire. feuer had an idea about using the diesel injector crush washer to seal the port. Has anyone tried this method yet?

Here are the part numbers for the diesel seal.

Note: I am willing to do each and every method before replacing a head on this N54. JBWeld being the final method

How many injectors swaps did you preform to make it get that way? That's crazy. JB Weld is magic but you're dealing with a lot pressure and temperature. I doubt it fixes the issue long term.

I ran into a similar issue where I broke the injector bracket bolt and drove the car without the bracket for cylinders 1 and 2. After getting on the throttle, the injectors popped out and car started misfiring. I continued to drive for more than an hour going a maximum of 30mph. I took it to a very reputable shop called ABR Houston who specializes in BMWs. They said I was lucky to still be able to keep a seal. If not then I would've looked into getting a replacement engine since doing the heads alone doesn't justify the cost.

I hope you find a solution to your problem and fix the reason why it started in the first place...

Thanks. Reason why it started was because the previous shop that did injectors before i owned the car, put all of the brackets upside down, and only one part of the bracket would hold the injector.

I'm going to be trying the diesel crush washer to seal the port.

Are you using new Teflon seals? Those are a must for good seal. If bore isn't too large you can let the seal expand a little before you push the injector in. You can try copper washer from diesel injector or try the alumunum cap that comes on the n54 injectors.

There is a fix for this. I designed it and have the patent on it. (Patent pending at the moment) attached is link to it and also a video from a customer. Enjoy!
