Wow that's freaking crazy - feel bad for the Tiger :
"The well-known Clyde Beatty film, "The Big Cage", documents a circus on the verge of bankruptcy. Beatty's attempted performance erupted into a shocking fight which was recorded on film. In the story, Beatty tames the cats and continues in the tradition of 'the show must go on'. Privately Beatty admitted even he had no possible hope of separating the big cats and the lion went on to maul the tiger to death. For over 50 years the scene was thought by viewers to be a well-staged dramatic scene, but is now recognised as a documentary showing an actual killing." |

That reminded me of this thing I saw on Animal Cops: Houston. Some guy kept a bunch of bears, tigers, and a few other things in cages for year (I think some of them were there for a decade or two). They didn't have fresh water to drink and were used for show once in while. It's pretty sickening.

fcuk!@# Thats got to be one of the most terrifying fights ever filmed. one of the other videos there is a 'theoretical' model from discovery/national geographic/something where they finally opine that because of the mane, the tiger (a male) would be unable to seriously hurt the lion (male, obviously) despite its heavier weight and strength, and so it would lose.

That was great, thank you for providing that.
I thought the Tiger was going to take it, which surprised me but the lion's weight advantage gave him the kill.

^ That video is narrated in Korean, basically they are saying the tiger wins and that it is a noble fighter compared to the lion. The reasons being that the tiger does not attach from behind, like the lion does by biting the tail of the tiger. And they say that the tiger waits for the lion to be back on the defense before continuing to attack.

I'm addicted to this epic battle.
I conclude. Tiger wins! It looks like the Koreans have a battle royale zoo. Watch here. -> [u2b]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WG9L28v9pgA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WG9L28v9pgA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/u2b]

It's probably from the early 70's when Korea was a 3rd world country.

Lol, funny how we do that to ourselves too. They're called prisons. Unless we're not considered as animals.

This video is longer and it showed the lion getting mauled at the end and running away.
