gas additive?
I heard not to put fuel additives/cleaners in my BMW, since BMW sells a additive I am guessing it is OK. Does anyone add a fuel additive, if so do you just add el-cheapo from wal-mart or do you have another brand? I have about 43000 miles on my 330i car and I am thinking about adding a fuel additive and wanted to get everyones opinions, thanks for your help...KG

Also, what are you hoping the fuel additive will accomplish? Cleaning of the fuel system? 'Top Tier' fuels already contain cleaning additives so I doubt you will do anything other than waste money with a fuel additive If you are hoping to increase octane (not really an issue with a NA car) skip the aftermarket junk (which definitely doesn't work) and use 100 octane unleaded fuel |

some tv show tested various additive and found them all to decrease performance.. so if you're looking for more performance don't do it..

I use Red Line Fuel System Cleaner (full bottle at every 5k mile oil change.) Roundel magazine had recommended this for owners just as a long term care suggestion.
