Spearco / Code3 FMIC and my Noelle ECU tune - performance gains

Hi,

Had the car on the dyno again. My tune is the 360hp Noelle ECU flash.

Baseline with stock FMIC:

June 17th, 2008
373.5 hp / 5740 rpm
513.8 nm / 4340 rpm

New dyno with Spearco FMIC:

August 12th, 2008
402.7 hp / 5760 rpm
560.6 nm / 4260 rpm

All numbers are crank. So the gains with the FMIC ( without ECU software modification ) are 29.2 hp and 46.8 nm. IMO this is a lot and shows clearly that the factory FMIC is a restriction.

FYI - The new crank numbers equal to 360 whp / 365 wtq. I will post the dyno-chart later on ( comparison without / with Spearco FMIC ). As usual, my car has been dynoed in the 5th gear ( steptronic ).

- Eugen

Excellent numbers Eugene. Did you get a revised Noelle tune to take advantge of the the IC? Thanks for sharing, but where is the chart?

Time for you to head to The Ring.

Great numbers... an intercooler would help a lot especially because you dyno'd in 5th gear... with a run that long, you get some major heatsoak with the stock intercooler.

The chart will be posted in about 6 hours. I'm currently in the office and have no time to prepare the image ( removing VIN ).

Wouldn't 402 horsepower equal 340 at the wheels?

The drivetrain losses in the 335 are slightly less than 11% at that rpm.

Will post the dyno chart in about 2 hours. The car feels pretty fast, the Noelle software has not been updated, so the gains are directly related to the FMIC only. However, it does not fit on steptronic cars currently, so I had to find an interim solution to get it fit on the car ( cutted the discharge pipe ). Code3 is working on a solution for autos. I have the original Spearco unit. Once there is a solution I might buy a Code3, depending on how the issue is solved.

Great results eugen. I managed to get my code 3 custom fitted to my steptronic car. My guy used a tig welder to fabricate a new discharge pipe and managed to use the the hoses and t-bolt clamps that came with the code3. I'll try and post pictures when I have time.

I've never understood why they always convert to crank numbers in Europe, but never list the conversion factor on the dyno sheet. :shrug
