A brand new N54 will cost how much??

What is the wholesale for a brand new complete N54 w/turbos? I'm doing research for a small project I'm getting into.

Talking Are you anticipating cooking yours?

You think you could end up needing a new N54? Hmm, wonder what your "project" is?

I would look into a used one from a wreck.

Makes you think though, about levels of damage at which insurance cos. call it a total. If they can get 20 or 25k for the wreck, it only takes 15 or 20k estimated repairs or to put it over.

Yes ..but this is just the engine

No oilcoolers-intecoolers-radiators-intakes (and their relevant pipe system), no ECU,no gearbox....this means nothing else than core engine.

I don't recal if this price included manifold and turbos though.

I have placed this question to an official BMW parts dealer and he made a reasearch for me...thats how i know.

$20k for an N54 engine is rediculous to me. Call me cheap but that's more than 50% of the MSRP on the car.

When you start talking that kind of money you might as well just buy a used low mileage 335i, pull out what you need and put the rest up on ebay. A rear-ended or t-boned wreck would be good too. I'd totally stay away from flood salvage cars. Bad news.

I don't think he was looking to buy all those parts for his project. If he needs all those parts (or if you need all those parts), it would make more sense to buy a used 335i or a rear ended car.

While I can't answer your question directly (wholesale?? brand new??), I did do the obvious thing: I checked realoem.com for the engine part number, and typed it into Tischer's quote system.

Unfortunately, Tischer won't quote a new engine, but a re-manufactured engine looks like it'd cost ~$8500 with core.

RealOEM 335i engine page:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...30&hg=11&fg=05

RMFD engine: 11000415044

Tischer results for this part:

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...arch%20Results

Hope this helps.
