VRSF Poor Quallity Charge Pipe?

Hey guys,

I have just opened up my VRSF charge pipe for my Z4, and can not help but wonder if all the VRSF charge pipes are like this.

It looks like they ran out of paint half way through, paint is flaking off, the meth bung had a chunk of metal hanging off on the inside, and the general finish is no where near as high quality as there other products.

Could someone please advise if the below is normal?

Honestly, clean it out with alcohol and make sure no debris is in the CP before installing. However I did have a bad experience with my old VRSF CP which caused me to buy an ER instead. Basically VRSF used a proprietary O ring which broke and left me with a boost leak. Tiago wanted $ to send me a new one causing me downtime. Now, their CPs use the OEM BMW O ring so it’s available at the dealer in a pinch.

Mines for N55 but identical build/quality - was a bit shocked actually considering the price. Fitted fine though - only issue i have on mine is the hole for the map sensor is tight - have to wrestle to get the sensor in with a oring on it and it ends up shredding the oring, ended up buying a a few spare orings and still same issue.

Oh wow what the fuck why would VRSF set it up like that originally.

I really hope mine is not like that... I bought mine a year ago.

I think the issue should have been resolved by now so you should be good. This was back in like 2014-2015.

I'm guessing the face of the meth bung and any section inside the tube shouldn't be coated and whoever masked it off did a half-assed job of it. Not sure why they wouldn't touch up those sections by sanding off the overspray. I work in manufacturing, that wouldn't fly here.
