Straight pipe golf tee mod
So I've seen the pe mod, golf tee mod and straight pipe. I want to combine all 3...hear me out.
Right now I have a switch in place that basically acts like disconnecting the solenoid. So I can make it louder or quieter as I want. So since it's my daily I won't do permanently loud. I'm considering going kind of a cross between pe and straight pipe. Where I'll delete the driver side muffler and replace it with a straight pipe section but leave the valve and passenger side muffler . My question is: has anyone done this? How quiet is the quiet side in this scenario? Is it the same as stock? |

It's funny bc I was thinking about the exact same this last week.
![]() ![]() Just need to be sure when you step on it you open te valve so the gasses can flow freely.

So mine currently has three settings, loud, quiet and stock. I'll maintain that, but loud is much louder. The plan is only removing the driver side but the actual pipe shape inside the muffler housing will remain the same.
I just want to make sure that the quiet/stark volumes are maintained similar to what they are now |

Mine is like this, works well. I still plan on going back to a stock muffler when I do downpipes, because its outrageously loud right now and downpipes will just be ridiculous.
It does what you want however, reasonably quieter with the valve shut.

How does the quiet setting compare to stock? I'm curious how much effect the "loud" muffler has when it's closed

I cant compare, because the exhaust is from a rwd n55 coupe. So no resonator and no secondary cats, did that the same time as the pe mod.
But if the only thing you do is the pe mod, then it will be exactly like stock, but probably quieter because even stock that valve is open most of the time. So if you have it shut itll be forced through the more heavily muffled side all the time. You will only hear the pe mod with the valve open
