How to Deal with Morning Dew?
Hey Guys,
Well now that the nights here in socal are dropping down in the 60's every morning when I go to work there's dew on the car. Now, this gets annoying when you've just washed your car and the next morning it's dirty again. Driving on the freeway makes all the dew settled on the roof trickle down to the rear window and trunk. How do you guys deal with morning dew in the mornings? ![]() Thanks for your input! ![]() |

wiping in the morning is a bad idea. Dust and stuff sticks to your car afterwards and you'd be rubbing that all around your car. I'd say you just have to live with it. If you put some sealant or wax over your car, the condensation should bead away itself!

What kind of sealant would I use to prevent dew from settling on the car? |

So everyone here that has to park their cars outside just deals with the dew? It sucks a lot because you can spend three hours washing your car the day before and it looks the same as it did after you go for a drive the next morning. |

it doesn't prevent it from settling it but it'll help all the water roll off safely and leave less marks. i wash, then wax. buff and take pix of the shine cause after wax pix are always awesome

I had that problem here in Fl until I moved all my crap out of the garage and into the shed so I could garage the thing. It got old quick dealing with the dew so I feel your pain.
What I used to do was every morning, was spray the car down with water to rinse off the overnight crap and I squeegeed the rear window so I could see out of it because the wind didn't push all of it away. The fastest I drive would be 55-60 due to local roads and speed limits but by the time I got to work (12 miles), the car was mostly dry and everyone always said how nice my car was. So, if you can, give it a rinse or even if you don't have a hose, fill up a couple of jugs of water and give it a "mini rinse" like that. As long as you got a good coat of wax on the car as mentioned above, you should have a decent looking car a litle bit longer. |
