Xdrive control module replacement
I'm replacing the xdrive control module on my e91 xdrive. The passenger footwell got flooded and i'm suspecting the module fried while sitting in water.
Do I just connect the new module and that's it? Or do I need to program anything to get the car to "accept" the new module? Thanks! |

i already answer in a other post, but to complete the post here i will answer:
hi, To answer to your question, VTG unit is not plug and play, you will need to run ISTA-D to : -Transfer old data from clutch wear from old VTG unit to "new" one -reset classification resistor -Calibration AND if your car is manual and you get an VTG unit from automatic car, you will need to apply your current VO data to the VTG unit with NCSExpert ( FA_Write) because VTG will send communication/limp mod error with transmission data not receive |

im having an issue with my sons car. trifecta of lights, already replaced transfer case with used one. the problem i think is that vtg has wear values of old transfer case where it says clutches completely shut down. therefore it will not calibrate. how can i have this resolved. i am currently using bimmergeeks protools app. how do i reset wear values in vtg module or do i need to have someone flash and program module. thanks
