How many miles before changing suspension?
I'm wondering how long will the OEM (ZSP in my case) springs, shocks, and struts last. The ride seems like it will be fine for another 200K miles! I see so many changing these things in various combinations. I'm just getting to 50K miles and out of the wonderful warranty period.

I would say a good general rule for most OEM shocks is that they last between 75k-100k. By 100k, I think they have deteriorated enough that if you upgrade, or just replace with OEM, that it will make a big difference. Springs should last quite a bit longer but they do fatigue as well.

It really depends how you drive and what you expect out of your suspension. In the good old days I could kill a set of Boges pretty fast doing winter rallying. Bilsteins lasted much longer. At 50k you could justify starting to shop. Anyway you look at it coilovers or BMW Performance kit would be a treat.

In my old E36, I put in Bilstein shocks, and oh yeah...you can feel the difference. I think more so than lowing the center of gravity with lowering springs.

Although the OE sports shocks feel softer (as compared with the springs) than the norm. I've driven a few OE Sport models with 25k+ that experienced noticable (to me) wear |

I think something is wrong with shocks and or struts, from my sport springs.
Going over only well speed bumps I get thiss squeaky "uuuunnnniiiii" that is pretty quick not sure what it is. But oh well my KW's will be going on soon. Mine rode probably 20-22,000 miles on stock suspension and 8-5,000 miles on sport springs
