Okay, so here's some bullshit. We went to go pick the car up Saturday, and he wants to trade in his E65 7er (pre-FL ugly ass one, in like a champaigne color). They're only offering like 18k for it, and he wants at least 19k, so there's been this whole mess going on, and he's probably going to be picking it up tomorrow. Thing is, I've already headed back up north, so I won't be there when he picks it up!

One of the reasons I came back home for the weekend was to get a ride in this beast! WTF! Oh well, at least I got to sit in it, prod the start button in hopes of it magically turning on (I wish), and just look around.

The dealership recieved two GTRs surprisingly; one in silver (I think super silver), and one in dark silver.

To my surprise, I was almost positive that the GTR would look better in the super silver because I was thinking the contrast would look neat (you also pay like 3k over for it, lol). However, after seeing the two in person, I'd have to say the dark silver one kicks the super silver one's ass in terms of looks. Light plays so much better on the darker paintjob, and the lack of contrast doesn't really matter. Good thing my friend's GTR is the dark silver one . I'd give the exterior a 9.5/10 in my book. Who says form following function looks bad?

The interior is a mixed bag. It's not really "cheap" feeling, it just doesn't look like something that'd be in a 70k car. I mean it's not bad by any stretch of the word. It has a very functional look and feel to it which I like. I'd give it an 8/10 overall inside.

Can't wait to go back down and get a ride, and maybe even drive it a bit!

It's comparable to a 6er imo. Not bad.

NOOOO room in the back though. The seats are like shelves. Bucket seat shelves I guess, haha.

Funny thing is that the seats aren't as aggressively bolstered as I'd hoped. My mom's C63's seats are far better...at least that's what I think. Haven't felt the GTR's seats while experiencing high G cornering yet.

I don't like how it looks unfinished. It looks like a fat knob on a small stick. I wish they eliminated the gap. I like the detailing on it, though the way the transmission gears were etched in on the silver part of the knob look a little rough and unfinished.

Yeah, the stealership seems to be doing a 20k markup (ouch). He figures the car will retain the value well enough for him not to care.

He's already first on the list for the V-Spec, and he's gonna trade this one in when it comes out!

even tho i hate it when dealerships mark up a car, i think the GTR is a rare exception where it will retain its resale value to offset the high price that you pay for it. for example, the Acura NSX. in 1991, people paid like $10k to $20k mark up for that car. now, 17 years later, the car sells for between $20k to $30k. addtionally, ppl pay over sticker for ferraris all day long.
