that brake squeal/noise
i have a 2006 330i e90, and my car is making that same brake squeal/noise from the right rear wheel that there have been tons of posts about (high pitched squeal from 0-20 mph while accelerating).
as with many others, i took it into the dealer, and they chamfered the brake pads and resurfaced the rotor--noise came back within a day or two some folks have also managed to get BMW to replace the entire brake assembly, which took care of the noise. my questions are: -according to my SA, BMW has an SIB out on this noise, w/ no fix yet determined. if they merely replace the brake assembly with one of the same design, wouldn't the noise return after the same amount of wear on the pads/system is reached? -has anyone taken their car to an independent shop or brake expert and found out WHY the noise occurs? my SA hasn't been able to figure this out (my gut tells me it might have to do w/ the wear sensor on that wheel, but i'm not sure)---there have been a lot of theories on the forums as well.. thanks in advance

I had the noise that you are talking about and the dealer replaced the entire brake assembly for me. I've driven about 5000 miles and the sound has not returned so I would have the dealer replace it for you since you are still under warranty. Good luck!

I have the same noise on my 08 335i, I am going to set up an appointment soon and will update you guys on whats going on asap. The noise is annoying and kind of embarrassing, I mean you're driving a nice BMW that you paid over 50 thousand for and it squeals louder than a car on its last mm of brake pad wear. Any who Ill keep you guys updated on this.

thanks guys,
eazydoezit, will you take your car to weatherford on ashby? i've been taking mine to fremont, where i keep getting "BMWNA has yet to determine a fix"...in all the other threads i've read on this issue, it seems like brake replacement is the end solution

Like dchiu7 I had the same sound and the dealer also replaced the rear brakes. Sound gone.
Interestingly, I had the same sound previous to this and it was actually the right rear wheel bearing. Dealer replaced it. |

how did you guys get the dealer to finally replace it? at my dealer, they mentioned a "goodwill replacement" but are telling me that my pads are worn too much to qualify for that..
