can someone clarify for me, does the ride quality remain the same in a coilover regardless of the height setting we use, since its a complete system? or does dropping it more have a harsher ride.
I have a KW V3 and wondering if i set the compression and rebound setting to any specific setting, it will remain the same feeling regardless of the height i set it as? or if i lower it more, should i compensate then by softening both the compression and rebound further to achieve the same feel. Thanks this has always confused me i hope someone can answer. ![]() ![]()

Coilovers are designed to be installed in the mid range of available range of ride height..if you go to the extreme on one direction or the other..the suspension will not work well. I personally would not adjust rebound when adjusting ride height. You dont want to be banging off the bump stops and effectively having 1500 lb springs. Your mileage may vary...

thanks. so the height does still affect the ride afterall, even with a c/o.
so you would suggest not to soften the rebound to compensate for lower height and simply live with an increased harsh ride? as if u soften rebound too much u could hit the bump stops? i dont intend to lower it TOO much, just i want to eliminate any wheel gap or even have the tire tucked in under the fender a cm from a side-view.

I once had 5 people in the car with a trunk full of luggage... The car felt like it was flying off minor dips and hitting the bump stops HARD. The stock sports suspension was not designed to handle that much weight... Would the KW V2s address that issue?

When I raised my car my ride did in fact get a bit smoother. My installer confirmed that ride height does impact ride smoothness.
