P02D3 code on 335d
Hi guys,
Check engine light came on while cruising on the highway today. Code reader said its P02D3 - "Cylinder 4 Fuel Injector A Offset Learning at Max Limit". Car did not go into limp mode. A week ago I got a P208E code for "Reductant Injection Valve Stuck Closed Bank 1 Unit 1". I cleared the P208E code last week and it has not returned. I cleared the P02D3 code today after I reached home and then drove around for 6 miles and it has not returned. My question is, does anyone have any idea what the P02D3 code might be due to? Searching around here it seems it could be carbon buildup. Car has 72k miles on it. CBU cleaning has never been done. Fuel filter was replaced at 33k miles along with MAF sensor. Should I run some hotshots extreme in the tank? Or should I replace the injector/fuel filter?. I am planning on doing the deletes and tune very soon so I would like to figure out this code before I proceed with the tune. Any input is appreciated. |

A cbu clean won't go amiss, but you have to take the manifold off and clean things manually; no additive etc will touch the cbu. Is it an M or N57 engine?
I'd suspect an injector fault with that code, though the P208E code is a bit weird. |

you need to invest in a bmw specific code reader. You will be much further down the road decifering one of those codes versus the gereric ones you are posting. Though i hate it for other reasons, i use the carly OBD and same app on my phone. it is a ripoff at $62/year. you can buy a foxwell (same thing is in a schwaben) unit. They have other capabilities and will run you $150 to $180 depending on the vendor and if on sale. They used to be discounted to $125 but those days are over. Good luck sorting out your codes.

I got this code as well and have no clue what to do. My 2011 335D has 103k miles and I just did the delete however this code is still here. I did clean cbu on intake but not on the engine as honestly didn't seem as there was too much. I have code P02D2 and P02D3 which apparently are injector 4 minimum and max limit reached. Will replacing the injector work? Some people say DDE needs to be replaced but I can't do that as I already have a JR 2.5 tune on mine now.

They're one time use, they need to be replaced anytime an injector is removed. And like you said, they're cheap. No reason not to.
