blower motor
So yesterday I went to change my expansion tank and when done I started water pump (hold gas 10sec when car off) and low heat...went to check and was leaking. so I unplugged battery neg. NOW after all said and done my blower motor is not working now...checked big 30a fuse and it seems not to be blown...And spun blower and spins fine...Any ideas on what to check next?

The blower motor likes to seized up due to rust. Open up the cowl/microfilter cover and gently spin the blower motor cage. Then try running it.
If it works, you can try spraying some lubricant into the shaft of the blower motor. Eventually, you'll need to replace it. Also check the FSR (final stage resistor) as the wiring likes to burn out. There's a recall out on my car for it Btw if it seized, don't keep the fan running. Otherwise it will eventually burn the motor out entirely and then it won't work at all/will definitely need replacement. |

If the blower motor is bad, just change it.
I think I changed mine in about 20 min. If I remember correctly, no tools needed. FCP Euro carries them. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...-64119227670-1 |
