As above
According to BMW Car mag, the proper USB interface (6FL) is now available £230 if I remember correctly + labour at about 2.5 hrs!!!

What model years? Does it interfere with the 6-CD changer in regards to software?

Just to repeat SY's question:
Anybody who has the mag, can you confirm what models/years can be retrofitted. I'm hoping my e91 - as this would confirm some info i got off BMW last month. |

Can you not just put a dension link in, with the USB port??
http://www.dension.com/icelinkgateway500.php And then when you sell it take it with you - I have fitted few of these to customers cars and you get full control, no BMW's yet though |

£230 PLUS 2.5 hours labour ... bah, I bet they have to re-code the car.

USB Retrofit
Surfing on another forum I found this, and thought it may be a good idea to share it here.
I've had my car a week and got the dealer to retro-fit the iPod connection in the glovebox, if I'd known about this I would have definatley gone down this route and kept my changer working. I have a lot of albums on my iPod and having to scroll from A everytime is a real pain. |

£250 + 2.5hrs labour was the figure quoted, but it depends on if you have Nav pro and bluetooth. as other parts may be needed. I don't really undertstand the model no.s in the PDF.

That's very, very intersting. Correct me if I missed something, but I didn't see any indication that this wouldn't be applicable to pre-March-07 cars... I assume a new TCU would be required in this case, but I didn't see that mentioned either.
Was there any other information on applicable build dates for this retrofit? |
