Ambient Lighting Retrofit Parts
This collection of parts will allow you to retrofit ambient lighting into your E90. I bought these parts several years ago and I installed the drivers side front door on my 335xi. It looked great! But, I got lazy and never did the other doors and now I've sold the car. Click here to see the original sale thread and everything that was included. If you've clicked through and are still reading, what I am selling are all the parts to do one drivers side door and both passenger side doors-which are black colored trim pieces. If you have another color interior, I would suggest painting/wrapping them. But, most importantly, because I already used one of the driver's side setups, you would need to order one more driver's side consisting of: Light strip-51439139837 $58.04 Fiber optic rod-63316958349 $18.01 LED lighting-63319122419 $16.10 *All prices from getbmwparts.com as of 06/07/20 But, you could do the driver's side front door and both passenger doors while the parts are on the way. I'm even throwing in the template I made to cut the door cards as well as some self-tapping nuts I bought to hold the door trim on. The original DIY can be found here and in it, the installer melts the plastic stubs to keep the trim on the door. I thought self tapping nuts were an easier and less potentially damaging install choice. If you've been wanting ambient lighting in your E90, this is the way to go! It is one of my favorite creature comforts in my F30 and you should have it too. The pics are of what you will get and you can see it as well in the linked post. Also, the part numbers are in the DIY and you can see some pics of how good it looks. I do not think I have any pics of it illuminated in my car but I'll scroll through my phone to find one of the installed trim. PM me with any questions...thanks!
