Vitamin suggestions?
I kinda understand that some of this just makes expensive urine LOL
But anyone suggest any vitamins, which help with the following Diabetes, Eye health and general well being. I did have a low B12, due to Metformin, so I take either B100 complex or B12, I also understand vit c is good for eye health. Yes I do eat healthy, but as we get older I guess that's an issue Thanks |

i dont think its that right to recommend without knowing your needs and im not a doctor but knowing from some diabetic people around me that you generally need magnesium, zinc and vitamin c at the most.. since as they dissolve in water.. for eyes, vitamin A,C,E and omega 3, copper and zinc again.. for general well being things above works as well but the most B12, iron, zinc what i take some time to time.. like a month taking these supplements and giving a break like for 3-5 months again or less.. thats what i do maybe arguably its wrong or right..

Orange Triad by Controlled Labs has been a staple in the industry (fitness/lifting) for a long time now. Has everything you are looking for and more, like joint support and things of that nature. Expensive for a multi though, and really depends on what you're doing physically. If you're just looking for the components I would just order them separately.

Hey Jason,
Yes for T2, I should add all BG's and bloodwork are all good, my DSN, Endo and dietitian are more than happy with me. I do know that Metformin does deplete B12 and one of my bloodworks years ago showed B12 deficiency. I am a well controlled Diabetic I'm on multiple meds for Diabetes, one or 2 which causes excessive urination to get rid of sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure. The latter 2 are more prevenative. I'm having some problems which I thing are side effects fo the cholesterol tablets, such as muscle ache and I'm worried about loosing too much salts due to urination. I guess, asside from the B12/B100 and Vit C, I'm trying to gauge if there is anything on top of healthy diet would help take the edge of. Not looking for a magic bullet, just some thoughts and suggestions |

I am not a person that likes to look at vitamins as a solutions to some of these things. I am by no means a doctor. But I am a true beleiver in diet is all that's needed to take in the best vitamins possible. I have proven in myself and if you research it a vegan diet can solve all sorts of health problems. I'm not saying go vegan but a diet heavy in Fruits, Vegetables, whole grains and just real foods will make you feel amazing. Just my a cents.

Yeah ppl don't understand that DM is a chronic life threatening illness and many people die of the "side" effects even if not well controlled.
No my mobility is fine, I have a back problem which rears it's ugly head at least once a year. Not heard of microbiome balance, I'll have to google it up |

There is a problem with us DM's is sugar, too much fruits can cause BG problems, so it's a case of not, not eating fruits but exercising portion control and eating fruits rather than drinking juices to avoid spiking.
Some fruits effect meds, for example grapefruits I can't eat as it messes with my Rosuvastatin. But hey this is an excuse, no dietician or DSN has never said to me.. "your eating to much fruits and veggies" LOL but you do make a good point ! Quote:

I agree you probably should talk about this with a doctor who has more info on your general health. B12 can definitely be an issue with diabetes and you can't really overdose on it cause your body just gets rid of it if it's too much although you should of course follow their recommendation anyway.
Age is another thing, malabsorption means your body might generelly absorp vitamins (or any nutrients for that matter) worse than at a younger age so you may have a slightly higher need |

All those different colored fruits and vegetables are intended to signal to your brain a vitamin that may be needed - ideally a big variety - that's why they are there - to be eaten.
Good luck! |

Yeah eat about 16 eggs a day, cholesterol levels should be okay haha. In seriousness, best way is to intake through natural foods i.e. salmon/other fatty fish, eggs, etc. Or you can just go out an grab some gummy vitamin D3 like my fiance does. As long as it has the FDA stamp on it you should be good to go. Some companies make fish oil & d3 which I would recommend if you're not currently getting many Omega-3s.
