What are you reading?
My original thread was started in the Politics section by mistake so I figured I'd start another. Mods - maybe you can dig up the old thread and merge please? Thank you.
So anyway, I may have mentioned it in the other thread. I'm really enjoying Don Winslow. I stumbled upon him by accident maybe last year. The first book I read was a stand alone called "The Force" about bad cops. I then read a series about the Mexican Drug Cartel and the DEA. Pretty damn good. I just finished a two book series - Savages and Kings of Cool. I really enjoyed them.

I'm currently reading a fantasy series called "Way of Kings". I'm starting the 2nd of 3 books (4th is out in Nov.). The 1st book was super slow for 600 pages and then finally got good.
My wife's cousin recommended it to me, I started it, and oddly 2 weeks later, my little sister asked if I'd ever heard of it/read it. The books are all 1,300+ pages, but it's getting really good.

Do Audiobooks count? If so we will go with Expeditionary Force series, the Fear series, and Galaxies Edge series right now.
If not I will have to go with a fun one called the Valuation Manual.

I guess it's whatever works for you. A story is a story, whether you read it or listen to it. Personally, I don't get the audiobook thing or even reading on a kindle or my phone. I like reading books, turning the pages. But thanks for playing

I've been reading Lee Childs Reacher series for years. The early ones were really good. There were two or three a few years ago I just couldn't get into and never finished. He's back though. I enjoyed his most recent ones. I read so much I honestly don't remember if Night School was one of the good ones. I hope it was.
I can't seem to grasp how they cast Tom Cruise at Reacher in the movie Enjoy!

Back into the DUNE series, this time with the son Brian Herbert. Was hoping to go get another one today, but will have to wait.
Put Plato's Republic next to my bed. Maybe got 20 pages in, picked up a magazine. |

I don’t tend to read a lot (any) of novels any more but I do love a biography.
The last I read was Debra Harry’s, enjoyed it very much and recommend. |

Done the Fear Series too - again damn good and I thought nicely linked in to how social media et all impacts our lives. I`ve listened to Galaxies Edge too but only the first one atm Oh all of them were narrated by RC Bray - Currently listening to Axioms End: A Novel - which is not narrated by RC Bray |

Brian and his co-writer do a very good job maintaining the style, yet being totally engrossing with the prequel. "Oh, THAT's where shields came from" "Oh, THAT's where that name originates" Yet the stories themselves are highly entertaining.

Reading The Pillars of the Earth again, simple one of my favorite stories/trilogy.
Almost done Dan Crenshaw's book. 1/3 into John Adams by McCullough Finished Educated last week, what a great book and story. Man she can write. Also got my Sword of Shannara special edition trilogy that came in, so that'll come up next. Covers most of it lol |

The Bobiverse series and Off to be a Wizard series were also ones I really enjoyed.

Now that's a thought - self help books as opposed to my reading fiction and getting lost.
Stay safe!
