Is there a way to reset headlight height.

When I had my passenger side headlight removed for testing I discovered the up/down adjuster was not connected to the headlight bowl. I got it reconnected properly and hoped once I started the car it would adjust itself to be level. As of this morning the light is still pointed down and I can see it just in front of car.

I did choose the option to reset the headlight with no change.

Is there a procedure I need to follow up get the headlight pointed back in the correct direction? It did look like the beam was moving right and left with slow turns.

Likely the plastic linkage between the motor and the bulb carrier is broken. These adaptive headlights are fragile. All it takes is a really good pothole to do them in. If you are very dexterous and have a lot of patience, you might be able to repair the problem with some epoxy but it can be really difficult.

Word of warning, don't get a used headlight from a yard unless it's a local yard and they will let you return it. Very good chance it will be DOA in exactly the same way yours is.

Everything is attached now. It just seems that the up/down adjustment motor is completely extended (possibly due to not being connected to reflector) Just wondering if there was a way to reset the motor back to a middle position.

Worst case, maybe I need to replace the motor in the headlight.
