Possibly looking to rent somebody’s garage to do some work

Hi all,
I might be looking to rent somebody’s garage for a week or so. I might have to do an engine swap in my non-BMW and can’t wing it on the side of a street. Looking for something in the Bay Area. PM me if you’re willing to help me out.

Also, if somebody knows any storage spaces which let you get away with working on a car, that would be helpful as well.

Try this place that's in San Jose where you can rent a lift and tools for $40/hour:

Been there, done that. Not ideal for the engine swap. At this rate if there’s any gotcha or something goes not according to plan you’ll wish you just paid somebody to do it for you. I did see some places on FB marketplace, though those were kind of far from me (>50 miles). Need to keep looking and see if some storage places will cut me some slack. Worst case I’ll just have somebody install it for me.

I think the biggest issue you're going to run into is liability concern, espeically for something like an engine swap. The last thing someone wants on their hands is a lawsuit over injury if something were to happen to you.

Good luck and hope everything works out for you!
