2006 320d DME clone capatability

i have a suspected fried DME & need to get a new one cloned but the amount of code variation is insane. Can i buy any edc16 or does it have to be a certain one. I dont want to get stung buying the wrong one.

You might consider reaching out to Simon Doherty on FB. There are a bunch of UK tuners that can clone that DDE, and they will be able to advise on the range of acceptable variants.

You definitely don't want to buy just any EDC16 without some guidance, as there are a wide range of variants.
