Time to replace the RFTs on my 2007 328xiT (no sports package). I'm trying to decide between the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus and the Pilot Exalto A/S. Or something else altogether. (In the UHP category, I see the Falken Ziex ZE-912 are well reviewed on Consumer Reports, and the Yokohama Advan S4's are high on both CR and Tirerack. Same with Continental ContiExtremeContact. So many choices!)

I live in NYC, and I do a lot of driving up to the Catskills (NY) or Vermont, including in the winter, for which I have winter tires. However I still want all seasons just because I occasionally get stuck in rain / snow / ice before I can get the winter tires on. And I just generally would prefer better, safer wet-weather traction over summer-tire pure dry performance.

After replacing the RFTs so quickly (20Kish), I'd say tread wear is now an issue for me. That was annoying, having to buy new tires so quickly. For the hassle as well as the expense.

As for my driving style -- I'm aggressive compared to a normal driver, not sure how I compare to y'all. I usually average about 80-100mph on my trips upstate, never over 110 mph. Or almost never.

I like to zip around corners. But I'm no track driver.

I guess one of my questions is about "Ultra High Performance" tires like the Sport a/s, as opposed to just "High Performance" like the Exalto. Which are for me, based on what I've described here?

If you need all season tires that you plan to use in snow, cold/icy roads, then UHP all seasons should be the way to go. The summer tires on the non-AWD 335i are Max performance, so I wouldn't go down under a UHP in performance, even with all seasons.
