2006 330i SP Winter Tire Question

Hi Guys (especially the TireRack folks),

I have a 2006 330i with sport package and have a quick question on running a non-standard set of winter tires on it.

If you aren't familiar with the SP on the 330i, it is a staggered setup - 225/40R18 in the front, 255/35R18 in the rear with staggered wheels (I think they are 8" in front and 8.5" in the rear, but I'm not positive). I'm thinking about running a set of 235/45R18 on all four corners on the stock SP wheels. Any concerns with this? Are they too wide for the front? Too skinny for the rear? Any concern over running a slightly taller tire (I'm actually thinking the extra ground clearance would be nice in winter, but don't want any rubbing concerns).

TIA,
Rich

While 235/45R18 would normally rub up front, it is very common to run 225/40R18 all around or 235/40R18 all around on both the front 8" wheels and rear 8.5" wheels.
